Father's/Son's campout

Hyrum got to with Grandpa Darrel and Uncle Jay (Jason had to work : ( )to a Father and Son's campout a few weeks ago. It sounds like he had a great time with a bunch of little friends sharing their cabin. Meanwhile, JoAnna, Lizzie, Grandma Lisa and Becca had a girl's night! We went to eat at a buffet because Jo tends to eat and eat and eat at dinner. We figured that'd give her a chance to really get her fill. The only problem there was that she was so excited with being there and so obsessed with what Hyrum was probably doing right then that she wouldn't eat. She watched the waiters, asked questions about the bell the bakery kept ringing, changed her mind over and over about what she was going to have to eat next, etc. It turned out that she didn't eat all that much at all. We'd gone early, too, so she still 'had to' have popcorn later. After the restaurant we asked her what she wanted to do that would be a girl thing to do. Her ideas definitely fit the bill. We did each other's hair while watching 'Singing in the Rain.' Grandma helped Jo learn how to braid. It sounds like it was a good time for all from the boy's account. So, we'll have to remember the perks of Father's/Son's activities in the future and take full advantage of the different settings to spend time together.
