Changes

Well, there have been some changes happening around our house. My parents are making room for us to rent their basement for a good while longer. This includes finishing the basement kitchen and allowing themselves to be kicked out of their office and craft room. So, the last few weeks have brought some rearranging....
In this room, where you see all the toys on the floor, the kids (yes, all three) shared space as a bedroom. With a fine separation from their dresser, They'd had a playroom where the table now is. That meant that as soon as it was one person's bedtime, no one could play anymore. Now it will serve as the dining room and playroom.

Now the kids' room is across the basement. It's separated into two 'rooms' by 8 foot tall wardrobes that serve as the girls' closets on one side and Hyrum's 'wall' on the other. Thanks to the super high ceilings down here, we could do such tall wardrobes and it really feels like two different rooms. Plus, each side has its own window since the room was actually built to be split into two work spaces. It's been great to give Hyrum some privacy from the girls. And Lizzie was so excited the first time she got to sleep in her new room that I haven't had any adjustment problems at all.

The most major change for the house has been the kitchen. Over the last month and a half or so, it's made quite the transformation. This is what has become of the room that had several piles of boxes stored in it not that long ago. This is what the room looked like at the beginning of the week.

In a matter of two days, and several people's hard work, the room miraculously turned into a real kitchen. This is what the kitchen looks like today. We'll bring our fridge over next week and be ready to roll! So, everyone come visit and see our "new house"!
